Physical Exams

Our veterinarians will conduct a thorough examination no matter the reason you have scheduled the appointment! The veterinarian will walk you through their normal/abnormal findings of your pet. They will perform a thorough exam: evaluating eyes, ears, oral cavity, skin, heart/lungs, palpation of abdomen, lymph nodes, neurologic and musculoskeletal systems.

FAQs

What does an exam include?

Our patients can’t speak to us, so we value an informative history from the pet owner and a thorough exam by the veterinarian to help diagnose common ailments and prevent disease. Please visit our Pricing page for information on the most common services - our goal is to be as transparent as possible!

How often are wellness exams?

Wellness exams are typically recommended annually for healthy pets or biannually for senior pets or ones with chronic conditions. It’s recommended for puppies and kittens to have at least one wellness exam when first adopted/purchased.

What can I expect during the visit?

After the exam, the veterinarian will recommend a plan that fits best for you and your pet. This may include additional treatments including vaccination updates, heartworm testing, parasite screening, lab work (depending on the age of the patient) and diagnostic imaging (chest and abdominal x-rays). The veterinarian will also provide an estimate before performing additional treatments/diagnostics.
